Sustainability

What are the sustainability practices of your brand?

At BEVAS, sustainability is a core value that guides our practices. We are deeply committed to minimising our environmental impact and contributing to a more sustainable future.

Here are some of the key sustainability practices we implement:

  • Sustainable Coffee Production: BEVAS takes pride in its partnership with The Rainforest Alliance, a collaboration that underscores our dedication to sustainable coffee production. The Rainforest Alliance only certifies farms that surpass stringent environmental and social standards. This approach not only safeguards biodiversity but also places a high premium on the well-being of both farmers and the surrounding communities.
  • Save the Elephants: With each bag of our coffee you purchase, we commit to making a donation to protect these iconic elephants and preserve their natural habitats. By enjoying our coffee, you will become a part of this great cause.
  • Carbon Neutrality: We closely monitor every stage of our product’s lifecycle, from transportation and roasting to packaging and customer delivery. Our focus is on sustainability and we actively assess the post-lifecycle impact to achieve a fully carbon-neutral process while meeting our customers’ needs responsibly.
  • Environmentally Friendly Packaging: Our packaging choices are guided by careful consideration for the environment. We’ve adopted FSC-certified cardboard and exclusively employ recyclable, compostable materials in all our products and packaging.

We are committed to continuous improvement and regularly assess our practices to identify areas where we can further enhance our sustainability efforts. If you have any further questions about our specific sustainability initiatives, please don’t hesitate to contact us at BEVAS.com/contact-us. We’re here to provide you with more information and address any enquiries you may have.

Are the coffee beans and vitamins sourced sustainably?

Absolutely, we sustainably source coffee from Brazil, India and Uganda working closely with trusted suppliers for premium beans, ethically harvested.

What is the Rainforest Alliance?

The Rainforest Alliance, established in 1987, is focused on environmental conservation and sustainable practices, collaborating with businesses, governments, and communities to promote responsible practices, certifying products with the Rainforest Alliance Certified™ seal to signify adherence to ecological and ethical standards. The Rainforest Alliance works to conserve ecosystems, support livelihoods and combat issues like deforestation and climate change. Learn more at https://www.rainforest-alliance.org

How is the packaging of Bevas environmentally friendly?

By adopting FSC-certified cardboard, we ensure that our packaging comes from responsibly managed forests, contributing to forest conservation and responsible resource use. Our use of recyclable and compostable materials for both products and packaging reduces waste and minimises the environmental impact of disposal, demonstrating our mission to reduce our ecological footprint and promote a more environmentally friendly product lifecycle.

How do I compost your Nespresso® capsules after use?

Once you’ve used your BEVAS compostable capsules from your machine, placing them in your local food waste collection bin means they will be processed into compost or liquid fertiliser depending on your local council’s food waste processing facilities. If you have your own composter you can also home compote like any other compostable material.
